CBI Probe into Honeypot Case - Vijayendra's Demand
Bengaluru: BJP State President and MLA B.Y. Vijayendra has demanded a CBI investigation into the honeypot case involving ministers and prominent individuals. Speaking to media representatives in front of Vidhana Soudha today, he stated that neither judges nor retired judges could investigate this matter, and it is certainly impossible for the SIT (Special Investigation Team) to do so.He pointed out that during the assembly session, members of the ruling party, including Cooperative Minister Rajanna, had raised a very serious issue. He noted that for the past few days, there had been significant buzz about ministers being targeted in a honeypot trap. Another minister, Satish Jarkiholi, had given a statement this morning corroborating the matter. Minister Rajanna had said that the incident was true and had spoken with great pain, indicating that 48-49 people had been ensnared in the honeypot trap. Vijayendra emphasized that Rajanna himself had called for a proper investigation into the matter. He further noted that the Home Minister had also spoken about the issue and addressed it in a non-partisan manner, describing it as a serious concern. Vijayendra highlighted that the issue of a honeypot trap involving 48-49 individuals had never been discussed in the state assembly before. In response to a question, he said that Minister Rajanna himself should reveal who possesses the power to orchestrate such a honeypot operation. Vijayendra refrained from naming specific individuals under discussion but pointed out that a senior minister had brought the matter to light. He added that the issue had also reached the Chief Minister’s attention. Rajanna had claimed that national leaders from different parties were also targeted in the honeypot trap, and Vijayendra insisted that Rajanna should publicly disclose who was behind it.Answering another question, Vijayendra mentioned that allegations had been made against Munirathna, and efforts had been made to place him in the position of an accused. He stated that Munirathna, too, had faced character assassination due to the case’s background and had been demanding a CBI probe since then. Even today, Munirathna continues to press for a CBI investigation, Vijayendra added.
